The Kabbalah Centre

The Kabbalah Centre is located in Los Angeles, California and is an internationally known, non profit organization that was established in 1922 by Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag. Rabbi Ashlag was born in 1885 in Lodz, Poland. He is also known as Baal HaSulam which means owner of the ladder. In Hebrew, the word “Kabbalah” means “receiving” or “that which has been received.” The depth of the studies at the Kabbalah Centre combines the basis of Jewish mysticism such as Ein Sof (radical transcendence of God), the Serifot (ten divine attributes) and the Shekhinah (the feminine aspect of God) with lucid analysis and vital historical information.

Jewish Mysticism and the Kabbalah

Tracing Jewish history, experts on Jewish mysticism translated passages from original Hebrew and Aramaic texts. These texts provide a guide to practicing the wisdom within the Kabbalah to receive rabbinic concepts of divine immanence that blossoms into the feminine half of God with the Talmud and patriarchal concepts that dominate the Torah and mitsvot (commandments). The Kabbalah Centre focuses attention on these concepts to fulfill mitsvot that mends all worlds and draws forth the emanation from above. The Kabbalah Centre presentation of Kabbalah practice allows each individual to grow in spiritual depth through understanding of the divine realm and the dynamic of God.

Finding a Vision of the Divine Realm and Dynamic of God

At Kabbalah Centre, practitioners are exposed to Sefer Yetsirah, The Book of Creation, ancient texts of secrets composed between the third and sixth centuries. The first Kabbalistic text presented, Sefer ha-Bahir, is the path to how the Sefirot appears as lights, powers and attributes. Students of the Kabbalah find a vision of the Divine Realm and a clearer understanding of the Dynamic of God through Jewish mysticism.
