“One set of changes leads to another,” the entrepreneur Vijay Eswaran said once, and nowhere is it truer than in his own eclectic life and the road to success he paved for himself. Born and raised in Malaysia (for which he still gets homesick after all these years), he’s since traveled the world and lived an incredibly full life most only dream of – all before he even started publishing books, started his own company and became a multi-nationally renowned motivational speaker.
Vijay Eswaran earned a degree in socio-political economics from the London School of Economics, worked construction in Belgium, picked grapes in France and even became a monk in Italy. The 33-day vow of silence he took at the Franciscan monastery in Umbria inspired his first book, “In The Sphere of Silence”. It serves to inspire others to find their own success and inner insights. His other book, “Two Minutes from the Abyss,” further explores the insights and philosophical inspiration he’s uncovered in his life since then.
Everything is temporary, Vijay believes. His book touches on outlasting adversity and using the instinctual fear of change not to hold your back from taking risks but to move forward. When one stops expecting the world to serve one’s pride and boldly steps out of their comfort zone is when they truly open themselves up to positive growth. And when one embraces the inevitability of danger, failure and human mortality, one can live fully in the present moment and overcome the obstacles of life.
- These “Pillars of Life Management” have shaped Vijay into a worldwide success. After working his way up through a number of companies back home in Malaysia, a surprise opportunity led to him founding QNet Ltd, a multi-level marketing group of which he remains chairman twenty years later.
Vijay’s success is proof of the wisdom in his advice. The inspiration he’s taken from Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela and countless cultures from across the globe and throughout history have planted tremendous seeds of growth that keep on blooming into impressive trees of accomplishment.
